BDCL LIGHTNING TOURNAMENT - 15th MARCH 2005

The annual Team Lightning Tournament was held on Tuesday 15th March 2005 at Olton's venue, Tyseley Working Mens Club. 14 teams from various clubs took part in three sections, with four boards in each match. Olton fielded 4 teams and contributed 2 players to a scratch team formed in conjunction with Mercia.

Games were played at the rate of 10 seconds per move. The action is fast and frantic and the event proved enjoyable for all competitors.

Olton A failed to regain their Championship from last year, beaten by a strong South Birmingham A side, who only dropped half a point.
